Dr. Gohar A. Salam
Gohar A. Salam, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Salam received his M.D. from Dow Medical College, Pakistan, and D.O. degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has completed residencies in Family Medicine and Ophthalmology from Michigan State and New York Universities, where he was awarded the Louis E. Zeile award for outstanding junior resident and the distinguished ASCRS excellence in research resident award.
He went on to complete a fellowship in surgical and medical retina at Indiana University School of Medicine where he was given the prestigious Merrill A. Grayson Fellowship Award. He has also completed a faculty development fellowship at the University of Michigan, and is very active in teaching residents and retina fellows at Indiana University School of Medicine where he holds an academic appointment.
Dr. Salam has authored a textbook in Ophthalmology and has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Salam has proudly served in the United States Army Reserves and was awarded State of Indiana Governor’s Achievement Award for military service in 2008.
